Crabapple Hill Retreat!

My sister Patty and I attended our 3rd Crabapple Hill Retreat.  From the moment we stepped inside the Crabapple Hill Studio we instantly felt like we were in our element!  There were quilts hanging everywhere.  Beautiful Christmas trees, embroidered pillows and projects on shelves and chairs.  It is always an amazing place to spend time!

Fall.....

There is something special about Fall.  It seems like life slows down.  I'm grateful that I am able to enjoy the change of Seasons!  This photo was taken in New Hampshire in 2003.  It was in the height of "Leaf Season".  I would love to go there again.  I met some great people and took in the wonderful surroundings that the Universe presents to us during this time of the year!

Moving more dirt....

It's been a long process - but we are moving forward...literally!  Steve is moving dirt so the patio and garage floor can be poured.  Still tons of work to do.  But, if the weather would hold up for us, we are hoping to get those done in the next couple of weeks.  Time will tell....we could use the good weather fairy to shine on our building site!

Improved health with Reflexology

If any of you know about Reflexology it truly is a modality that helps to relief stress throughout your whole body.

Foot and hand reflexology is a scientific art based on the premise that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all body parts.  The physical act of applying specific pressures using thumb, finger and hand techniques result in stress reduction which causes a physiological change in the body.

Being a certified Reflexologist I love hearing about how my treatment helps my clients.  If you live in the Delta, Utah area and are interested in a Reflexology session send me a note at footlady@hotmail.com or leave me a message in the comment area below.  I'll get back to you and schedule your first session.

Ready for Quilter's Chocolate!

I made this cute little fabric basket and have it sitting in my office.  I try to keep some dark chocolate inside - just in case the urge arises!

One of my Favorites!

I don't know how many people out there love scones, but they are a weakness for me!  Instead of buying them, I decided to make a batch.  Oh, I have to tell you, they were divine!

Gardening 2019 ???

This years attempt to plant a few veggies that both Steve and I like.  My crop ended up being pretty slim picking!  But, we did get a few yellow beets.

A Dish Towel Challenge...

Our local Quilt Guild did a fun dish towel challenge.  I wasn't sure if I would have time to do it.  But, you know the old saying "Don't be busy, be productive"...well I decided to be productive and it's amazing what I can do!

A Second Chance!

I bought a small baby quilt at St. Vincent de Paul (aka...St. Vinnies) in Florence, Oregon.  The little quilt needed a little "love", and I knew that I could fix it.  So, I purchased the quilt for $5.  Long story short, I ended up taking the quilt completely apart and created something new!  The original fabric are the blocks with the daisies.  It's just a simple four patch with blocks between, but I love how it turned out!  I named this quilt "Second Chance".

Fun times with Granddaughter!

We had the pleasure of traveling to our Daughter's home in Colorado a few weeks ago.  My Granddaughter is old enough that I am teaching her how to sew.  We worked together on this cute apron.  We didn't get it done before we left, so I brought it home to finish it for her.  She's a good learner and is catching on really well!  Just wish I lived closer so I could teach her more.

Bits and Pieces

I have this great jar that all of my left over binding goes into.  It's perfect!  It doesn't get tucked into a box so I don't know what I have, and it also stays clean.

Ready to Quilt...

I have had this cute little wall  hanging ready to quilt for way too long.  Guess I had better get it done!  I love Dresden Plate quilts.  I created this pattern and will post more once it's quilted.

Saving a Gem...

I have this tendency to want to make things that are old look new again.  I found this gem of a sewing machine and just knew I could do something wonderful with it.  It's a White sewing machine.  In my search to find parts and a service manual, I soon realized that my task wasn't going to be as easy as I hoped.

This machine was in really good condition until the people I bought it from put the cabinet in the back of my car.  The piece in the front of the machine got bent and scratched.  In addition, the back of the cabinet was damaged.  When I got it home I was pretty discouraged. None the less, I was determined to turn my garage sale find into something that I could look at every day and enjoy.  So, I was on a quest to find another machine that I could use as parts.  I was so surprised to find two machines like this because they are like hens teeth!

I hope you enjoy the process!

When Winter Comes...it's Ovaltine time!

When I was growing up, a wonderful Winter treat was Ovaltine!  I loved the chocolate malt flavor, and of course lots of whipped cream.  This is a treat that anyone would love!

On to a New Year!

Christmas has come and gone.  I'm always slow at taking down the decorations, mainly because the arduous task of getting the boxes out of the garage.  Our garage has become a storage unit - but, that's a whole other story!  LOL!

This year I made a quilt for a dear friend of ours, his name is CF.  My hubby Steve worked with CF for years and they developed a great friendship, one of admiration and respect.  CF's wife came to me and asked if I would make a quilt for him.  I don't normally do commissioned quilts for other people due to the time constraints, but this one I knew would be a "thank you" quilt for all of the help CF has given Steve.  I think it turned out really well.  Can you tell that CF is a Dallas Cowboy fan?  It was our gift to CF - how can you charge someone for a quilt when they have been such a great friend?  This quilt was a labor of love for sure!
