The Pioneer Woman

Yesterday I went to Salt Lake City to see this great lady.
She is as fun in person as she is on her web page.

Here is the Pioneer Woman signing my cook book!

I sat right in front so I was able to catch this great smile!!
Ree spoke to a crowd of over 500 (I am sure) and then
I had to stand in line for an hour and a half to get my
book signed!! It was worth it though!!

The last of our beautiful tomatoes!

Well, I haven't bottled anything in years! After yesterday,
I can see why! It took me the good part of a day to bottle 8 qts.
of stewed tomatoes. I have to admit I diced them,
but none the less, it was way too much work! I will have
to smile every time I open a bottle. I'll savor the flavor
and appreciate not only the work involved for canning them,
but also the countless hours we spent in our garden!
The tasty things were worth it!!

Yummm! A glimps of my hard work!!

A little bit of Mapleton, Oregon

Take a look at these tasty huckleberries! These
are right behind the house. How lucky can I be!!
All I have to do is go out the front door to pick
huckleberreis and blackberries!!

Don't you love these lacey flowers. My husband
calls them weeds! I told him they are wild flowers,
he looked at me with that funny look he gets and says,
"what ever".

An early morning glimps of Fall in Mapleton, Oregon.
Be sure and click on the photos to get a better
feel of how they look.
